About Us

Established in 2014 at the University of New Brunswick, the People in Motion Lab is at the forefront in Data Science for a sustainable world. The students are engineers, geographers, computer scientists, mathematicians, statisticians, physicists, and social scientists who have a unique learning experience in how to extract value of big data being generated by the Internet of Things in digital cities. They are trained to apply and develop new automated analytical workflows for harvesting, storing, processing, analyzing and visualizing big data, encouraging world-class research that leads industry development & investment, multidisciplinary collaboration and international networking, as measured against the highest international standards and academic innovation.
