United Nations - GGIM Forum

Prof. Monica Wachowicz has joined the Advisory Board of UN-GGIM Academic Network. She attended the 8th Session of the Committee of Experts on UN-GGIM Forum on the SDGs Connectivity Dilemma: Urban Settlements, Resilience, and Sustainability. Her presentation on Geospatial Data Science for Urban Resilience has pointed out the challenges and opportunities for deploying the Internet of Things in our cities for providing intelligent interactivity between humans and things in order to exchange information & knowledge for fairness and equity. She also described how Data Science is now a very multidisciplinary endeavor, drawing on enhanced technologies, ubiquitous communications, and machine learning for learning from IoT data. The future generation of analytical processes will transform the relations between government, civil society and private sectors.
